Crown Thinning/ Dead Wooding to Crown Reduction

Crown Reduction
The selective branch length pruning of the whole tree crown to reform it to a size and shape more appropriate to its position.

crown lifting

Crown Lifting
The selective removal of lower branches of the tree crown. This raises the height of the lower branches of the tree canopy from the ground. It should be carried out in the earlier stages of a trees life and subsequently maintained to allow pedestrian passage below the tree to permit maintenance, and also to prevent conflict with neighbouring trees and buildings.

crown thinning

Crown Thinning/Dead Wooding
A process aimed at reducing the branch volume throughout the crown of the tree. Work here is mainly aimed at removing dead, damaged or poorly formed branch growth benefitting the tree by allowing a greater passage of light, air and windflow.

pollarding

Pollarding
A particularly common method of tree care in France. Pollard techniques are a severe approach to pruning branch length in a method forcing size and containment of the tree. Once this method of pruning has been established it will be necessary to re-pollard on a cycle of normally between 3-5 years to maintain required shape and size.

felling

Tree Felling
Should it be required for a tree to be felled or removed. We are fully experienced in the felling or sectional dismantling prior to felling of trees of any size or species.

Stump Grinding Service
When a tree has been felled or site cleared, we are able to fully remove all stumps left behind leaving the ground ready for future use. We use a pedestrian operated stump grinder particularly suited to narrow openings/entrances. For larger stumps or areas we use a remote controlled tracked stump grinder capable of dealing with any size of stump.
